We skipped our post-exam nap and opted for a burger at the South Philadelphia Tap Room this afternoon. It was late afternoon so the bar was empty, but there was plenty of beer and food to go around. We each got a Rineer Family Farms Grass Fed Cheeseburger with beer braised bacon, smoked cheddar, lettuce, onion, “secret sauce” and a side of pickle and fries.
I was honestly too exhausted and famished to give this one a fair review. The burger definitely hit the spot, but I can’t say it was especially memorable. All of their meats are hormone and antibiotic free – if that matters to anyone. I have heard some great things about South Philly Tap Room’s burgers and this is my first time to try it. It’s outstanding bar food, but bar food nonetheless.
