Best Pho and Vietnamese Food in Philadelphia

Best Pho Bo (Vietnamese Noodle Soup)
Pho 75 – Everyone seems to have their own suggestions about the best pho restaurant, but Pho 75 is definitely a local South Philadelphia favorite. It is not a fancy place and service is average at best, but the pho is rich and authentic. They are also cash only and serve only Pho. Recommended: Pho Saigon, Pho Ha

Best Pho Ga (Vietnamese Chicken Noodle Soup)
Thanh Thanh Cafe – Their chicken broth makes this the best chicken pho place in the city. It is located in Kensington, but it’s worth the visit. You can get a full meal for just $5! Order extra dipping sauce and chicken on the side.

Best Bun Bo Hue (Vietnamese Spicy Beef Vermicelli Soup)
Cafe Diem – If you have ever wanted to try bun bo hue, Cafe Diem is your place. The cafe itself is a small hole in the wall that seats no more than 30 people, but the bun bo hue is definitively the best in the east coast. If you’re new to the dish, consider getting the bun bo hue with just regular meat, and without the pork bones, tendons, etc. that may be too intimidating.

Best Com Tam Thit Nuong (Broken Rice Dish)
Nam Phuong – They serve excellent rice dishes and ba vi. The ambiance needs work, but their menu is extensive and the beer and liquor come cheap.

Best Banh Mi (Vietnames Hoagie)
Cafe Vinh Long – Previously known as Cafe Minh Chau, this small hidden cafe is popular with locals in South Philly. Their bread and meat are fresh and made to order right in front of you!
