Plants, beer, food, music, and a flea market featuring local vendors. It sounds a little too good to be true. And in a way, it was.
This year’s PHS Fall Festival took place at the Navy Yard and drew in 3-4 times as many people as it did previous years. The sun was hot and the lines were excruciatingly long. By the time I got to the front of the beer line, they were all out of beer. The food trucks were very quick to sell out of their top picks. Even the shortest of the lines was a good 20 minutes wait. Had I eaten beforehand, I probably wouldn’t have been so grouchy initially. After they rolled in more beer and I managed to get some food in me, I was in a much better mood to browse and shop.
The Franklin Flea has always has a great assortment. I can’t afford most things, so I usually just browse. I did end up buying a wooden photo frame this time though.
The boy and I each bought a succulent plant. Let’s hope we don’t kill them.
